JANE ABRAMSON Jane Co-founded PenneySeal Productions with Laura Penney, recent projects include Carlos Murillo’s Mimesophobia (dir. Matt August, Summer Play Festival 2005) and The Shaggs: Philosophy of the World (by Joy Gregory, Gunnar Madsen and John Langs, New York Music Theatre Festival 2005), the musical Slut (FringeNYC); Dreams This Way: The Best of Raw Impressions Music Theatre (dir. by Daniella Topol, New York Musical Theatre Festival 2004 and TADA! Theatre); Karen Hartman’s Anatomy 1968 (dir. Lisa Rothe, Summer Play Festival 2004); Bill Boggs’ Talk Show Confidential (dir. Jeffrey Moss, Triad Theatre); Michael D. Cohen’s The End of You (dir. Sarah Gurfield, Lion Theatre); Deirdre (“Best of Festival” Producer’s Prize, Daniel Marshall Award Winner; 4th Annual TRU Voices New Musicals Reading Series); Lark Play Development Center’s 11th Annual Playwrights’ Week; and several Raw Impressions Musical Theatre events (RIMT). With Raw Impressions film division (RIPFest), PenneySeal has produced two short films: the thriller “Friends Like These” (by Geoff Kirsch and Jason Reich, dir. Evan Greenberg) and the movie musical “Free Fall” (by David Simpatico and Jeff Blumenkrantz, dir. Lonny Price). In addition to administrating the 2005 TRU Voices New Plays Reading Series, Laura and Jane are on the advisory board for AWOL (Artists Without Limits), have appeared on producing panels, and are regular adjudicators and judges for New York theater festivals. |
