Raw Impressions is committed to inspiring artists to be prolific with excellence, introducing artists to new collaborators and supporting them through to premiere in a speedy development process free from commercial pressures - so our artists can just be artists.

Raw Impressions, Inc. is a not-for profit 501c3 working in Music Theatre (RIMT) and Film (RIPFEST), founded by David Rodwin and Patrick Mellen in September 2001.

We seek a balance between the excellence of the work and the transformational results of participation. We also maintain a balance between giving opportunities to emerging artists and creating a playground where established pros can experiment with freedom.

We continue to create an extraordinary community where many who met for the first time through Raw Impressions cement long-term partnerships and go on to create more work including award-winning feature films and evening-length musicals.

In five seasons, Raw Impressions has brought together over 1500 artists and supported them through the process of developing and premiering 52 short films and 172 ten-minute musicals to audiences of over 10,000.

We have no intention of stopping anytime soon.
