We did the first Raw Impressions Music Theatre event not expecting to start a company. But everyone involved loved the process and we sold out so we were invited back to Manhattan Theatre Source to do RIMT again. Then Nicky Paraiso (another performer from the Studio) who ran The Club at LaMaMa ETC invited us to present RIMT there. After 3 seasons at LaMaMa we moved to HERE and finally we now present at The Flea Theatre.

After 2004, Raw Impressions Music Theatre now runs in an annual marathon for the stage with 3 RIMT events produced back to back to back.

After the first RIMT event we realized we could take the format apply it to other mediums. Film was on the top of the list. We began planning RIPFEST - originally taken from "Raw Impressions Productions short film Festival". This was before Instant Films or any other quick film group had begun to prove it could be done. We ran straight into the unknown and figured it out as we went.

Our very first event was 8 films in 16 days. 4 NY/4LA. We tried one movie musical in LA and decided we needed to make a special event that just did movie musicals were we to do that in the future. Starting with RIPFest #4 May 2004 we began making RIPFEST:Movie Musicals each May. And starting with RIPFest #6 we started doing them bi-costally once again. In the fall we still do RIPFest just in NY "non-musical" films.
