New York, NY, April 25, 2004: Raw Impressions, Inc. will produce six original short movies for the fifth installment of the RIPFest film festival. RIPFest is a guerrilla filmmaking process wherein professional filmmakers who have never worked together are given sixteen days to collaborate on and create original works. This is the first time RIPFest is doing Thrillers. Beyond that, there are no restrictions on content or style, however there are uniform guidelines for creative inspiration.

RIPFest #5, participants include artists with careers in television, film and Broadway. Among the current team is an array of awarded professionals including Oscar, Tony and Emmy winners. Broadway and television actress, Tony Pinkins has pushed back the schedule for the opening of Caroline or Change at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles for two weeks so she can direct for RIPFest. She created the role of Caroline on Broadway in Tony Kushner’s first musical and she continues her recurring role on ABC’s All My Children. Director Mark Millhone will be helming one short. He was given a 1997 Academy Award for Best Student Short Film. Also working on RIPFest are writers Geoff Hirsch, Jason Reich - both Emmy Award winners for The Daily Show with John Stewart.
