proud to present Dreams This Way: The Best of Raw Impressions Music Theatre featuring the writing of DJ
Javerbaum –-Emmy Award-Winning Head Writer of The Daily Show and a dozen other writers. There will be

Raw Impressions, Inc. was founded in 2001 by David Rodwin (Producing Artistic Director) and Patrick Mellen
(Music Theatre Division Director). We work in music theatre and film with a unique focus on the intersection
between the two forms – movie musicals. We are committed to inspiring artists to be prolific with excellence.
At our film event, RIPFest, six teams of filmmakers who have never met are paired together and given guidelines to create six 10-minute film in 16 days. NYMF will be presenting RIPFest #4 – Six movie musicals that were made in May 2004 staring six amazing casts including: Tony Award-Winner Tonya Pinkins (Caroline or Change) and Drama Desk-Nominated Julia Murney (Wild Party – MTC). It also features the work of Broadway directors Scott Schwartz (Golda’s Balcony, Bat Boy) and Ted Sperling (MD: Kiss of the Spider Woman, Full Monty). RIPFest #4 will be screened at AMC 25 at 234 W. 42nd St. on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at 2PM. Tix: $10.

Raw Impressions’ RIPFest films have been official selections at film festivals around the country including Mill Valley, Sonoma, Urbanworld, The Daily Show Film Fest, Chicago City Limits Film Fest, and many others. At Raw Impressions Music Theatre (RIMT) professional writers and composers create 8 new 10-minute musicals in 10 days. Raw Impressions has commissioned, developed and produced 124 short musicals in the last three years at LaMaMa ETC and Dreams This Way features the eight best. Backstage hailed it “The Best of the Best”. NY Press declared Raw Impressions as “"A jewel of New York music theatre”. And The Jonathan Larson Foundation confirmed this honor by naming them the youngest organization to win their coveted award.

Dreams This Way involves 38 artists who represent the future of music theatre. In addition to DJ Javerbaum,
featured artists are: Andrew Gerle and Maryrose Wood - the only three-time winners of the Richard Rodgers
Award for their musical The Tutor; Scott Ethier - Macon Symphony Composer-In-Residence; Curtis Moore –
composer of the score for Todd Solondz's film, Palindromes; Jen Waldman currently in Wicked on Broadway;
and Jimmy Bennett - co-creator and star of The Nuclear Family.

Dreams This Way director Daniella Topol has directed new plays and musicals for Ensemble Studio Theatre,
Epiphany Theatre Company, The Lark, New York Theatre Workshop Reading Series, and FringeNYC. Jane
Abramson and Laura Penney are PenneySeal Productions, which produced Slut at FringeNYC 2003. They set
the record for the fastest show to sell out in the New York International Fringe Festival’s history. The cast is
Jimmy Bennett, Gavin Esham, Patrick Mellen, Amanda Ryan Paige, Lucy Sorensen and Jennifer Waldman.
